“…With men it is impossible, but not with God, because all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27b)

MUSIC FOR OCTOBER 21, 2007

Great job on “If the Lord is In It” last Sunday, that was a great song to break in the new sound system with. This week the Choir will sing “How Beautiful” in both services. If you sing in the early service choir you will need to be in the choir room by 8:00 am. If you sing in the Late service choir you will need to be in the choir room by 10:30 am.  Thank you for your time, service and commitment in the service of our Lord.

Cindy Muschany, Evette Eickelmann and Erica Turilli will sing the vocal praise in both services.

Kathy Perry and Jean Lueken will play the piano and keyboard in both services.

The Praise Team will sing and play in the 10:45 service. The singers will be Cindy Muschany, Evette Eickelmann, Kathy and Bradley Perry.

Choir rehearsal will begin at 5:30 pm.

Praise Team rehearsal will be at 7:00 pm. The singers who need to attend are Sharon Doyle, Nancy Logan, and Kathy and Bradley Perry.

G.R.O.W.

Many of you attend our church outreach program G.R.O.W. and that’s great. But now we have begun early rehearsals and now you may feel torn. Let me relieve some of the confusion. G.R.O.W. is an ongoing program in our church, early choir rehearsals are not, because of that your G.R.O.W. commitment should take precedence over the Choir commitment. Your G.R.O.W. commitment is also only once a month, so it is perfectly fine for you to go to G.R.O.W. on your specific night each month, I promise you won’t miss that much. In fact I want to encourage you to do that, and then come to Choir when you are finished. G.R.O.W. is an important program in our church and we need to support that any way that we can.

SOLO AUDITIONS

We will be having solo auditions for the Christmas eve celebration this year. As of right now there will be three solos and three praise team members in the program. The audition dates will be Sunday evening November  11, from 4:30-5:30, and again the following Wednesday, November 14 from 6:00-7:00 pm. I will choose the praise team based on what I hear in the solo auditions. This Sunday evening there will be a sign-up sheet for you to schedule your specific time to audition on one of these two evenings. Auditions give everyone a equal and fair opportunity to have a solo if they want one. I’m looking forward to hearing what each one of you do on the solo of your choice.  The first solo will be “Made to Worship” on pages 25-26. The next one will be “Only the Son of God” on pages 58-59 only. The third one will be “Jesus, Light of the World”  pages 87-89. We are only doing a portion of each song for the auditions so you won’t have to learn the whole song unless you are actually assigned the solo. All solo’s can be male or female. If you want to be in the praise team and not have a solo, bring the song of your choice, or sing one of the audition solos, I will just need to hear your voice.

CHRISTMAS EVE CELEBRATION

It’s still not to late to be in this years Christmas eve celebration. You just need to begin attending two rehearsals a month starting this month. You will need to begin attending this Sunday, October 21 to meet that deadline. We are also asking all of those participating this year to stay through the whole rehearsal (since you will be there anyway), learn our Sunday morning music and help us out during the Worship service of your choice each Sunday morning between now and Christmas. However if it is completely impossible for you to do this we still want you to sing in the Christmas program, we will take you however we can get you.

BONUS REHEARSALS

As most of you are well aware we have begun early rehearsals at 5:30 pm every Sunday evening now, and we will be beginning Wednesday evening rehearsals at 6:00 pm beginning November 7. It is my hope that by doing this, by the time December roles around we will be able to back off to just the Sunday rehearsal again. This depends on various factors like; how long it takes us to learn the music, how much we listen to our C.D.’s at home as well as how many rehearsals we attend. However that is my goal. This years dress rehearsal will be on December 23 at 5:30 pm. The Christmas Program will be on December 24 (Christmas Eve) at 5:00 and 7:00 pm with a light supper for program participants and there families at 6:00 pm.
