Building a Foundation for Generations to Come!
Campaign Vision:
Phase 1: Entering Our Second Century Debt-Free
Our vision: a debt-free future where Temple Baptist Church shines as an enduring beacon of faith, hope, and light in Sullivan and beyond. For nearly 100 years (since 1927), we've faithfully proclaimed the Gospel, discipled all ages, and served our community with love. As our centennial approaches in 2027, we have the opportunity to step into our second century unburdened by debt and ready for greater ministry. By His grace and your generous giving, we commit to paying off the remaining debt in full by December 31, 2026—freeing resources to advance the Kingdom.
Phase 2: Building a Lasting Reserve for Generations Ahead
Once debt-free, we will honor God's past faithfulness by establishing the Legacy Reserve Fund for deferred maintenance, essential repairs, renovations, and enhancements—keeping our facilities safe, welcoming, and fully equipped for our thriving adult ministries, children and youth programs, weekday preschool, and expanding congregation. This is about stewardship: enhancing our mission and ministry and ensuring our children, grandchildren, and future generations inherit a vibrant, debt-free home for worship, discipleship, fellowship, and outreach. Your gifts today empower Temple Baptist Church to nurture faith for the next 100 years. Together, we're building a Lasting Legacy.

STEP 1: Seek God First in Prayer
Begin by prayerfully asking the Lord what your financial partnership in this campaign should look like. Take time to listen honestly as He shapes your decision. Any commitment you make should flow from your relationship with Jesus—it is an act of worship, trust, and spiritual growth. Let your giving be a meaningful expression of your faith.
STEP 2: Prayerfully Consider Your Giving Potential
We are not asking you to reduce or replace your regular giving to the church (General Fund), which supports missions and ministry. When our church launched the original challenge to build 35 years ago, we made a shared commitment that we continue to honor today: contributions to major projects like this would always be above and beyond regular offerings, so the ongoing ministry budget remains strong and unhindered.
Your decision should come from a place of genuine gratitude and possibility. Generosity looks different for each family—some may give modestly, and that is beautiful and valued; others may be able to stretch further in faith. Many of you are already faithfully supporting our building fund—thank you for your steadfast partnership! If that's you, this is simply a moment to renew and perhaps even increase your commitment to Lasting Legacy. No one can dictate what "sacrificial" giving means for you—that is between you, your family, and the Lord. Seek His guidance, consider what you are truly capable of, and respond with joy.

STEP 3: Begin Giving as the Lord Leads
Once you've prayed and discerned your response, we simply invite you to start giving to Lasting Legacy—however and whenever you're ready. You can begin right away by designating your gift to the Lasting Legacy fund when you give online, through your bank’s bill pay, by check (noted "Lasting Legacy" in the memo), or by placing it in the offering boxes on Sundays.
There’s no formal pledge required—just faithful, ongoing generosity as God directs. Every gift, no matter the size, moves us closer to seeing this vision become reality.
